Privacy policy

The short version

• You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number.
• Your study progress is saved in your own browser. It is never sent to us.
• The site shows ads from Google. We ask Google not to personalise them, because many of our learners are school students.
• Ads never appear while you are studying a deck.
• We do not sell personal data.

Who we are

FlipNLearn (flipnlearn.app) is operated by Flip N Learn, 4, Meenakshi Garden, Karupaiurani, Madurai 625020, Tamil Nadu, India. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Flip N Learn. You can reach us at ahamedabdul29@gmail.com.

Information stored on your device

When you mark a card as “Know it” or “Still learning”, FlipNLearn saves that status, and the time you last studied the deck, in your browser’s local storage. This is what lets you resume a deck and review the cards you missed.

• It stays on the device and browser you used. We do not receive or store it.
• It does not include your name or any contact details.
• You can delete it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. Doing so resets your progress.

FlipNLearn itself does not set cookies.

Information processed when you visit

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, it receives technical information with each request so it can deliver the page and protect the service from abuse: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page, and the time of the request.

We do not use this information to identify you, and we do not combine it with other information. Vercel keeps request logs for a limited period set by our hosting plan, and may retain some data longer for security and legal purposes under its own policy. See Vercel’s privacy policy.

Advertising

FlipNLearn is free because it shows ads served by Google AdSense. We place at most one small, clearly labelled ad on a page, below the page’s content. Ads are never shown while you are working through a deck’s cards.

In general, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to a website or to other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to sites on the internet.

How ads work on this site. Because many of our learners are under 18, every ad request we send asks Google for age-appropriate treatment. For those requests Google turns off personalised (interest-based) advertising and remarketing, so the ads you see are chosen from the page you are on and your general location, not from your browsing history. Google may still use cookies or similar technologies for limited purposes such as capping how often you see the same ad, measuring ad performance in aggregate, and detecting fraud and abuse.

We do not use any advertising network other than Google.

Children

FlipNLearn is built for school students, many of whom are under 18. We do not offer accounts, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and we do not track, profile, or target advertising at children. As described above, we ask Google to treat every ad request on this site as age-appropriate.

Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent personal data. The only third parties that process information when you use FlipNLearn are the service providers named above: Vercel, to host the site, and Google, to serve ads. They may process information on servers outside India.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to request information about personal data of yours that we process, to ask for it to be corrected or erased, to have a grievance addressed, and to nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf.

Because we have no accounts and do not store study progress, we usually hold no personal data that can be linked to you. For data Google holds about your ad activity, Google’s own tools linked above are the quickest route.

To make a request or raise a grievance, email Flip N Learn at ahamedabdul29@gmail.com with the subject line “Privacy request”. We will respond within 15 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Security

The site is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the information we handle to the minimum described here.

Changes to this policy

If we change how FlipNLearn handles information — for example, when we add sign-in — we will update this page and the “Last updated” date before the change takes effect.
